Since Meetingpoint Partnership was formed,
we have had the opportunity of designing and facilitating several
organisation-wide safety leadership initiatives. These have
led to significant reductions in the occurrence of safety incidents
and injuries.
Our experience suggests 5 critical success factors; which,
when evidenced within the safety change intervention, lead
to improvements in safety performance. Our consulting process
takes account of each of these. The pre-requisite for our safety
leadership program is that a safety management system is established
within the organisation. Our programs focus on leadership which
drives behaviour based safety (E Scott Geller).
We partner with you during the design phase to ensure alignment with other related
issues within your business and build upon any diagnostic information you may
have available from expert safety providers; for example, Dupont.
In addition, our design phase includes us working with you to identify the leadership
behaviours which will successfully drive safety performance based on your current
safety culture (including the prevailing leadership behaviour). Based on this
information, we help you select the safety specific tools/methods which, if embedded
by leaders into the organisation will take safety performance to the next level.
In identifying the leadership behaviours, we take account
of existing leadership behavioural models and aim to build
on these by focussing on these selected behaviours within
the program.
Where clients do not have a behavioural model in place,
we can help you identify the key behaviours - which if demonstrated
in your leadership population - will achieve & sustain
results.
Our unique process helps senior
leaders “step up” to the challenge of safety
leadership by increasing their personal value for safety
and equipping them with safety skills and know how and the
necessary behaviours to drive a change in safety culture
and performance.
